Skills - Manufacturing (with blueprints)

1. How do manufacturing skills work?
To practice manufacturing skills and make items, you will have to work inside a player owned stall, in which the owner will usually charge an hourly fee.

Shipwrighting

How does it work?

Full Comprehensive Example
Skill: Shipwrighting
Ship: Cog (simplest ship)

A ship is divided into parts. Each part is further subdivided into pieces (Pieces -> Parts -> Ship). Each one of the three constitutes a layer, the ship being the top layer. A higher shipwrighting skill is required to put together parts than to make pieces, and consequently an even higher level is required to put together a whole ship from its constituent parts.

Here I will give a generic example: we're going to be working with a cog, the simplest of ships, from the bottom up.

I. Making Ship PIECES:
No Blueprints are required for this step.
- Suppose you start at level 1 shipwrighting, without any skills.
- You then start a quest to learn how to make a ship piece (example: a Cog Chassis). The chassis is basically the 'skeleton' of the ship.
- After you've finished the quest, you'll get the rewards plus the ability to make this specific piece (in our example, the Cog Chassis).
- From then on, you will get a declining amount of shipwrighting experience for each successive Chassis you make.
- After a certain number of pieces made, you won't get any more shipwrighting experience and will have to move on to more advanced ships.

II. Making Ship PARTS:
To complete this step, you'll need a 'Cog Hull Blueprint'. A ship hull is basically the full ship minus the mast+sail parts. You will also need a cog chassis to build the hull from.
- Drop the Cog Chassis from your inventory on the ground (this will make the game display a huge Cog Chassis on the ground, akin to the one in the last picture).
- Make sure you have a good amount of planks and start using them with the Chassis to slowly build the Hull. It will take a while but you will slowly see the Chassis on the ground being enclosed by the planks. Throughout the process, the item on the ground will read 'Cog Hull 0-100%', depending on the level of completion. Animations change every 20% (one piece gradually becomes the other). The incomplete hull cannot be picked up by other players.
- After you're done, you will get a 'Cog Hull' in your inventory.

III. Putting the Ship together:
To complete this step, you will need a 'Full Cog Plant'. You will also need a 'Cog Hull' and a 'Cog Mast+Sail' (I've omitted the building of these parts).
- Simply use the pieces with one another, and you will get the Full Cog. You won't get the actual ship in your inventory, you will get a thing called the 'deed'. A deed is basically a certificate that says your ship is ready to be sailed at the nearest marina.
- Once ships have been put together, they cannot be disassembled.
- Keep in mind that it will require an immensely higher shipwrighting level to put a ship together than it will to make pieces/parts. This is so new players get to make the ship pieces, medium-levelled players make the parts and veterans get to assemble the ships and sell them. This is the final reward for attaining a high level in shipwrighting. With a higher level, you will also require less time and materials than beginners to make ship parts/pieces.

Note: Production in Apothecary and Furnishing Stalls will work in the exact same way.
Note2: Your ship parts might get attribute bonuses if you finish them faster. (Example: 'Good' Cog Hull is better than 'Poor' Cog Hull.) Refer to the game documentation for further info.
Note3: You can only put a 'Good Cog' together using 'Good' Cog Parts (or better). Only then will your ship will get the full 'Good' attribute bonuses. For instance: if you try to use a 'Good' Cog Hull with a 'Poor' Mast+Sail, you will still get a 'Poor' Cog. You will actually get a warning first (which can be disabled).
